Pre-Installation Auditing to Identify and Eliminate Any Possible Critical Issues

It is essential for Optimal Venue Solutions to carry out a thorough site survey and assessment, and to be given the latest plans and detailed considerations to identify which aspects, will affect the smooth installation for your training or conference facility.

Every characteristic of the site is considered to verify the challenges associated with the project itself as well as the conference and training access, for position and size, to optimise the time taken for delivery and installation. This is very important for preparation and bump-in of the seating for both union and non union sites.

It is also important to understand the conference site and training room’s timeline and if commencing a larger construction at what phase is the build at.

For instance:

  • If the site is a larger scale and nearly completed, the access points can be limited and availability to utilise work lifts or cranes becomes limited or not an option.
  • If an older site, does the flooring need to be rectified in order to properly secure the seating
  • Other trades maybe working in the same area and therefore can limit, availability to the actual room or centre.
  • Container storage also needs to be considered if the job is a larger one, as space can be at a premium.
  • Where does the truck have access for delivery?
  • Whose responsibility is it for sustainable rubbish removal?
  • What can be recycled and what can’t

Additionally OHS needs to be considered for the project site. This is to eliminate relevant issues and risks from start to finish, particularly in conjunction to the access, to reduce the immediate risk to all workers as well as the onsite trades people and even conference or training participates should it be an operational site.

All the above considerations affect the time taken to potentially install seating or to completely fit out a centres room or training room. If not carefully considered the additional time not accounted for, will affect the cost economy for everyone’s bottom line.

Retractable Seating vs Fixed Seating installation

It really depends on how flexible you need your space to be. Some venues are opting for a combination of both retractable and fixed seating to increase or decrease the central floor space depending on whether it remains just as a sporting venue or also can double as a concert space and or auditorium.

This flexible option may assist to appeal to the wider community and increase revenue streams with the ability to expand your hiring options. Retractable can be folded away to utilise the floor for other purposes. Fixed position systems suit venues where storage and performance areas are always in the same position and there are greater budgetary restraints.
